Committed to Equality.

Everyone should have a fair opportunity to contribute, develop and progress. We are committed to addressing gender and racial inequality and building a workplace where people are treated with respect.

Our commitment

Gender Balance Goal.

Better gender balance means creating opportunities at every level, including senior leadership. Our ambition is to improve representation and address the barriers that can hold people back.

Our published reporting provides a basis for understanding pay differences and where further attention is needed.

Race at Work Charter.

Vegner Group has signed Business in the Community’s Race at Work Charter, supporting its aim to improve equality of opportunity for ethnically diverse people.

The charter provides a framework for addressing barriers to recruitment, development and progression. It has evolved from five principles to seven commitments, with leadership responsibility running throughout.

The current framework brings together fair access to work, career progression and an inclusive workplace culture.

The Seven Commitments

  1. Help young people from ethnically diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds access employment and enterprise.
  2. Use ethnicity data to understand disparities and share progress.
  3. Make tackling bullying and harassment a board-level priority.
  4. Ensure managers provide fair access to development and opportunities.
  5. Improve career progression for ethnically diverse colleagues.
  6. Turn allyship into active, sustained support.
  7. Create opportunities for ethnically diverse-led suppliers.

Our published ambition

50:50

Gender balance goal

A More Balanced Workplace.

Our previously published ambition was a 50:50 gender balance, within a 5% tolerance. This expresses the balance we set out to work towards; it is not a statement of our current workforce composition.

Meaningful progress includes representation in leadership, fair access to development and a culture in which colleagues can contribute and succeed.

Statements made in connection with Vegner Group signing the Race at Work Charter.

Vegner's culture is inclusive in nature and the commitments we have signed up to are already ingrained within our culture. We know there is more work to be done, and the Charter will help us focus our efforts for total equality. We are very excited by how this partnership will help to further shape and define our culture.

Richard Scott HR Director, Vegner Group

By signing up to the charter they are showing that they aspire to have one of the most inclusive workplaces in the country. Together we can break down barriers in the workplace, raise the aspirations and achievements of talented individuals, and deliver an enormous boost to the long-term economic position of the UK.
